As
instructional designers we need to be aware of different learning and
instructional technologies used popularly today. A good understanding of these technologies
will enable an Instructional Designer to design the learning content that hits
the instructional goals effectively.
I
have summarized some of resources I have visited below.
This
website shares a wide range of information about online learning technologies, Learning
theories, Learning styles, cognitive theories of multimedia learning and adult
learning. Most of Instructional designer fail to hit the instructional
objective because of cognitive load in their contents. This website contains a
lot of posts and articles that guide a designer from cognitive load.
Infed is a not-for-profit
site provided by the YMCA George Williams College. This website provides
education and learning experiences in various aspects. I visited this and found
some resources in areas of learning theories, models, product and process. http://infed.org/mobi/learning-theory-models-product-and-process/
This
blog is owned by i-Learn East Africa Ltd, the provider of free and premium
online courses in East Africa. The blog contains articles related to educational
technology and designing instruction. I have found more resources on aspect of
project management and leadership in the instructional design field
I
invite you all to go through the mentioned websites and blogs for the purpose of exploring additional resources
for your own development as an Instructional designer.
